    j! 1.5 upgrade

Posted 16 years 6 months ago
    • OK I downloaded the rocketlauncher for the Bento Box dark, but I do not know what to do with it. I'm putting together a site and used j!1.0. We want to upgrade to 1.5, but still want the Bento dark theme. Any help would be much appreciated.

OK, I did finally read the Read me file...DUH, I replaced the 2 php files, but it still does not open the site with the bento box theme.

    • Peter, I am concerned that when I go throught his process, it will erase the existing site I have. I installed the original through Go Daddy into the root directory and it is 1.0, but I want to upgrade to 1.5. Will this affect the existing site?

    • Yes, if you install the RocketLauncher package into the root directory, as it's a new installation, you will have to erase the existing site.

In your case, if you want to keep your current work, you have to do a migration. See Migration from 1.0.x to 1.5 Stable .

    • OK, so I'm curious, is there enough reason (read: improvements) to migrate the site to 1.5 then try to upgrade the Bento Box theme? I have no issues with the existing 1.0, I just thought "newer is better" right?

If the site will work fine for a couple of years, I'm happy just leaving it as 1.0, we can look at upgrading at a later date with a 1.5 specific thme.

Do I have to worry about 1.0 having any issues in the near future?

    • As long as it's working fine, updated to the latest version, with no unsecured extension installed, it should be fine. If you have time, you can still download it locally, test the migration process and if you manage to do it, upload the 1.5 version.
