Very Disappointing! Not good news at all for RocketTheme!

    • Looking at the new website this morning, can I be the first to say how disappointed I was to see a two tier structure and a removal of club benefits.

This year I joined the RocketTheme and paid a hefty subscription so I could get all the benefits of the joining this Joomla based website. This morning I see that in order to have the complete benefits there is now a requirement to pay a further $200+ as a full member, furthermore a previous benefit of a Members Only area for fully subscribed members has been removed.

Not impressed. This clearly was not a site revamp. This was clearly designed as another money spinner.

      Very disappointing.

    • hmmm... I'm guessing that the transition is not completed. I'm assuming that if you paid for a full year, you will get that. However, I too am disabled, though the date of my expiry is Jul 2, 2009. Andy will get it straightened out soon. I'm sure. :D

    • Hey Steve,

Just echoing Dave's comments above, it is just a transitional blip, i.e. ensuring that everything is setup correctly.

I checked your permissions and you should be able to view all the boards you did before, i.e. public, members only, Pro and the Joomla templates.

      Can you confirm now?

    • James, I am now able to see the different forum notices.

However, my gripe is about the fact that RocketTheme has presented itself up to now as website that provides resources for Joomla development. With this in mind, my expectations have been that as a PRO Member this would enable me to benefit from all the Joomla development, and up until today, this has been the case.

Now, a two tier development approach is being applied. Namely 'Joomla Club Templates' and 'PHB PP3', both now require different memberships and at different associated costs. My understanding on joining RocketTheme was that as a 'Pro Member' this would provide open unrestricted access to the active joomla resources on the website. This clearly now appears not to be the case, instead, RocketTheme has created in essence 2 distinct types of membership which clearly were not the defined case when I joined RocketTheme.

    • You are still getting all of the Joomla benefits. phpBB is a completely different system and in turn, a different club. The phpBB part wasn't available when you signed up and isn't Joomla related.

    • phpBB is a completely different system to Joomla, it is not affiliated or connected to Joomla in any way. As Ben said, you still receive all the Joomla benefits.

    • Thanks for your quick feedback on this.

My only thoughts are these, it would be easy to confuse that the two are linked and it could be implied that prior to today's change that a Pro Member would have a full entitlement to the tools available. However, I believe given the feedback over this confusion that the matter is closed.

      Once again many thanks.

    • James! Comb you hair! lol :P

I like the Replicant v2 style 4 (the red one). I have a site that would be great for that! I think I'll try a small phpBB3 membership for now. SWEET!

BTW, I have the last posted phpBB3 bridge. I don't see that anywhere now on the new RT website. Am I missing something?
