I have a tough issue, at least for a noob. I have two sites with the same host, pair.com. I have installed the same RocketLauncher with HiveMind to both accounts. One is doing fine, however the other when I upload an extension, I am not the owner and cannot make any changes to it.
After contacting the host they replied:
It appears that an upload script on your site is runs so that when a file is
uploaded, the Apache user nobody assumes ownership.
To avoid this, you can use php-cgiwrap which lets your scripts execute under
your own user name name and group instead of the user nobody and the group www.
This article on our knowledge base contains the information to setting up
php-cgiwrap:
kb.pair.com/f25
I am not very script savy and wonder why I need to use this script.
Does anyone have experience with this issue? I welcome any input.
if you search the forum, there are already many problems like you because your server doesn't support joomla fully.
ask them to install suPHP on their server, and if they don't want to do it, just move to another hosting Really!
