    • Please can any one help. We have over 300 pages and have found some pages that lead back to the same page with a different URL SO NOT GOOD duplicate content! one of the examples is our "index" page also has another URL "home-mainmenu-71.html"

      Has any one come across this before and if so what is the best way to make sure this does not happen again.

      Are you using SEF urls in your site and if yes, which one are you using?

    • Just look at rockettheme.com and put the home-mainmenu-71.html on it so it looked like this www.rockettheme.com/home-mainmenu-71.html and it came up with a 404, then I've also just searched on google and yahoo under "home-mainmenu-71.html" and found a few website's that seem to have this...??
      Still look for help please to sort this issue out.

    • Hi Kat,

      Just using the Joomla search friendly URL which is build into the standered package, which I though was working ok but may be not. I've just looked at rockettheme.com and added "home-mainmenu-71.html" and that seems to come up with a 404 error.

    • Hmm, try disabling SEF and see if the problem is still there.
      Also a link to YOUR :cheesy: site may help to find a solution.

      I am using sh404sef, it allows you to manually edit wrong urls and also has a build in security component. extensions.joomla.org/extensions/site-ma...ent/sef/2380/details

      Just download sh404sef. Currently have the joomla SEF URLs on. Installed it and it ask to clear urls then I logged on to site and came up with an error with have a htaccess file which has a number of 301 redirects. Do you have to manually set the URLs once you have installed this component? I'm a little lost.
