SEO for a client - what to charge

  • SEO for a client - what to charge

    • I've got an older 1.0.X client that wants a higher SEO score so he's asking me to alter his site to get better exposure from Google. What would someone charge for this to get SEF installation, new keywords, and other SEO optimization tricks?

    • If you need to ask - pass the job onto someone that's not about to do the wrong thing by your client.

Or, you could just do what many web developers do in your position ... charge him the earth for rankings on REALLY obscure search terms that have absolutely no research behind them that are guaranteed to hit a #1 position within a week or two and equally guaranteed to have absolutely no impact whatsoever on his ROI (except for the money he just spent on your SEO services of course).

People offering SEO services who DO know what they're doing, who ARE achieving results charge a MINIMUM of $300 / month with a MINIMUM 6-month term for a reason.

The market is getting more and more savvy every day ... don't make the mistake of taking this client's money without knowing what to do with it - it WILL come back to haunt you.
