I joined rockettheme a while back and had some excellent support putting together a tribute site for my son who died in 2007 - jamesszubinski.me.uk
My design skills or rather colour coord skills are zilch, and I need help in selecting a nice template and colour balance.
The greatest person on this planet is my wife - she is simply an outstanding remarkable lady, and next month she is 60... So I want to create a site with the corny Mamas & Pappas (for those old enough) song 'Dedicated to the One I Love'.
So the content will map our life so far .... each page will contain a selection of appropriate pics
Introduction, young Janis, Love & Marriage, Our Kids, Growing up with our Family, Our special holidays in the Maldives, Our Grandkids
I have until the 31st March to pull all this together - because we go off on vacation (for her birthday) so any help or pointers etc etc would be most welcome.... PLEASE

You can't go wrong with either HiveMind or Meridian. If you want nice control over your colors, check out Akiraka.
Take a look at the demos and try and imagine your site within a template.
