joomla and eprocessing network form

  • joomla and eprocessing network form

    • Hi, I am finishing up a client that wants me to build a page that will allow for credit card processing of about 8 products. (dog food)

I see there are some extensions that help with form building, but it is complicated for me in that I must tailor this form to what the cart is asking....

Anyone have a suggestion on a path...???

      Thanks....

    • The easiest solution would be Paypal but that means your customer wnats to do it through Paypal but if they did, then you´ve got a few extensions you can use or you could just use the merchant tools via Paypal if they only have 8 products.

If they want to accept actual credit cards then dependent on who you use to process, some offer simple scripts you can wrap into a site .. otherwise, it sounds like lots of work...

    • OK, I already suggested PayPal, but he wasn't interested. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to build forms into Joomla??? I will have to edit the code obviously according to this cart server, but I am kind of lost in how to begin in a Joomla environment.

    • As Damo mentioned, what your client is looking for is simple using a payment gateway such as PayPal, but since he doesn't want to go that route, it complicates things.

Tons of forms components available in the JED at joomla.org, some have cart integration, some don't.

Again, they may not suit the requirements / wished of your client.

If you can't find a viable 'out-of-the-box' solution, you may be better off outsourcing this part of the job in The marketplace, Joomlancers, or Rent-A-Coder.

    • I personally like ChronoForms , but transactions and taking customer data is a VERY sensitive issue online.

You will find a ton of extensions all promising to take customer data and orders...but VERY FEW that know how to secure the information.

I would spend some time looking into SSL certificates and online shopping solutions anytime there is sensitive user information being stored.

Also, remember that if the form is secure when the user is filling in the data and sending...is it also secure when the Admin of the site is retrieving it?

There's a reason credit fraud is so incredibly common now...it's because online "anybody can have their own store" sites are so popular.

Just food for thought...and I don't mean to throw a red flag up for you...there are solutions out there, they just take asking a lot of questions, and remembering that just because someone offers a component, doesn't make is secure.
