How Do I Get My Joomla And SMF To Work With Friendly URLS Effectively...

Posted 18 years 4 months ago
    • I have a a Joomla Site with SMF Integration using the Joomla SMF Bridge. However I noticed that if i enable the friendly URLS feature the SMF give me errors, even with the .htacess file. Does any one know how to get the two to work with friendly URLS?

    • Hmmm.. Chris, maybe there's something wrong with those URLs. They might not be so friendly after all. Maybe SMF made them angry or something. Have you tried a new set of URLs?

      Just a thought.

    • Ykies! A little too much holiday cheer at the Christmas party last night. If anyone is ofended by the humor I can delete it. Sorry!

But, I just wanted to chime in here and say that when I installed SMF, the SEO function and the '.htacces' file were already on. Everything seemed to work ok. I had to turn on the 'friendly URLs' in the SMF admin control to get them to change. But, I'm not sure about switching the Joomla SEO function to on 'after' SMF is already installed. I've never tried that.

I have and it gives "Page Not Found Errors" in the SMF forum
Not the kind of holiday cheer I was hoping for! :D
But I really do need to get it to work!
