Help with js errors

Hi,
I need some advice about java script errors...
today i use darkmatter, a beutiful dark template which i like alot.
the problem is that i encounter many js errors - with seyret, with joomlacomment, with the shoutbox and more...
i know, cool js effects is like candies, yummy but bad for you.
so my questions are:
if i take a newer template does it improves the chances to avoid js errors?
if not, can it somehow be solved?
