....... How do you make another one? ???
I got to front page manager but it shows no option to create a new page.
I cant see how to make static content into a frontpage either.
Any speedy help appreciated

- The Joomla frontpage is whatever your first item is on the mainmenu. By default the frontpage is a blog, but you can make it whatever you like. If you want it to be static content, you just need to make that first on your mainmenu. If you want it back to default, you need to go to the mainmenu, create a new link, and make it a blog category. Then you need to move that new link to the first item on the menu.

...you can't have static content on a frontpage, only dynamic content items.
You can get round this two ways:
1) create a content item in it's own section/category called "home page" (or whatever) and publish it to front...then in front page manager, order it as "-1" (so it always appears 1st).
2) Go to extensions.joomla.org and grab a copy of the excellent MJ Frontpage component and use that (lets you have static front page items and dynamic content below it). - Toolbox Digital | Dribbble | Forrst

Hi everyone. I know it is a bit drastic but I just wiped the joomla file of WAMP5 and started over. I'm only experimenting and not sure how soon Id get a reply due to it being sat night. Nothing lost really.
I love the Technozine template! Thing is for a newbie like me theres far too much stuff on there and it confuses me. I was trying to wipe bits off so I could learn one at a time as I re added the pages with the names I want. Im sure this will all be so clear this time next week :

BTW I have changed my user name from my boring credit card name m.tulloch to my usual forum name of kola but will it hell let me log in this way. I have changed password and username on profile page. any ideas?

Dan, on point 1 you say creat new dynamic content and then publish to front. How do I publish to front? I can publish but I cant work out how I specify a place to publish to

Hi Kola,
Since you are experimenting right now, you might try reading up on the way Joomla works. Once you get that going, things will make much more sense.
RocketTheme is a template club. Though you can - and will, find answers to Joomla questions here, it's mainly about the templates. We assume that you come here with a little Joomla knowledge already. Since you have a great technical background, you should have no problem getting up to speed fast on the basic functions of Joomla. You may not find the kind of support here where someone walks you through step by step on how Joomla works. That kind of knowledge is something that you may need to gather for yourself. But, there is plenty of help here, if you get stuck.

The main Joomla website has a great help section. Don't feel intimidated by my words. This happens to a lot of folks. There are people here (me included) that had no clue where to start when I first opened Joomla (named Mambo then). Now those people are able to answer sophisticated questions.
We'd love to experience your growth, but others have supplied us with great resources to use. I'm thankful for that! You will be too!

- I would also recommend Barrie North's (Compass Designs/Joomlashack) excellent Joomla admin manual too, you can buy it here: www.compassdesigns.net/joomla-administrators-manual.html - it gives some excellent details into how to start off administration of a Joomla site, explains sections, cats, content, menus etc - a really good starting point and is not massive so can be read through in a couple of hours.
