JSMF Bridge Installation Problems

  • JSMF Bridge Installation Problems

    • I have the SMF forum installed on one of my clients websites using a wrapper.
      It all works fine. I've tried installing the com_smf_2_0.zip and after the installation process and patching the index.php file the website fails to load. Can anyone help me sort this?

    • Hello Philip,

      The smf should not be used with wrapper.
      If you install the JSMF bridge, you can configure it for "wrapped mode".

    • Hi mate,
      I've tried the JSMF bridge and it gives me a blank screen after patching the index.php file
      and now I'm trying the smf_1-1_joomla_1-1-6_bridge
      and I just got this error

      Warning: SMF_header_include(/Forum/SSI.php) [function.SMF-header-include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /websites/LinuxPackage02/di/dc/ot/didcottownfc.com/public_html/mambots/system/SMF_header_include.php on line 67

      Fatal error: SMF_header_include() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/Forum/SSI.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/php5/share/pear') in /websites/LinuxPackage02/di/dc/ot/didcottownfc.com/public_html/mambots/system/SMF_header_include.php on line 67

      which bridge is the best one to use?

      Thanks very much for the reply
      regards
      Philip

    • Hello Philip,

      I can't say which bridge is the best. But I use JSMF in some sites and it works well. I have seen your site, and the problem is you are using the forum within a wrapper component. It's not correct.

      Just create a menu for the bridge component from joomla backend, then configure the bridge for "wrapped mode" .

    • Hello Philip,
      Warning: SMF_header_include(/Forum/SSI.php) [function.SMF-header-include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /websites/LinuxPackage02/di/dc/ot/didcottownfc.com/public_html/mambots/system/SMF_header_include.php on line 67

      Fatal error: SMF_header_include() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/Forum/SSI.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/php5/share/pear') in /websites/LinuxPackage02/di/dc/ot/didcottownfc.com/public_html/mambots/system/SMF_header_include.php on line 67

      Seeing this error, I think this is not the error which is produced by JoomlaHacks bridge. It's Ortio's bridge. As I know, JoomlaHacks bridge doesn't use mambots.

      If you previously had Ortio's bridge installed, you can try to uninstall it again. But if I am not wrong, Ortio's bridge does not uninstall all parts (The mambots still remains). So, if you want to use JoomlaHacks bridge, you must manually uninstall the mambots too.

      Hope this can help you solve the problem.

    • Hi There, I don't know if this would be helpful, but at one point I got the blank screen too after trying the JSMF Bridge. To get things back up, I ended up using MyPHPadmin to access the database and drop the tables that were still in the databae for that bridge. That helped me.

    • Hi Philip,

      You can try Dave's suggestion. If it still not works, I wish I can help you more, but I really have no idea anymore.
      Just for suggestion, you can try post your problem in JoomlaHacks.com forum or SMF forum.
      You will get more help there.

      Good luck, Philip.
