I'm Looking for a File Uploader Solution

Posted 15 years 9 months ago
    • My site at http://www.grayphics.com is setup to allow me less time quoting jobs on the phone. I'm providing a method of purchasing (or at least seeing what it'll cost) the most commonly requested print work from my client base. But if I'm not designing their product, I need their files transferred to me.

During checkout, I'd like to include a file uploader that would only be enabled after payment, and the uploaded client files linked in some fashion to the checkout information. I know Virtuemart has a 'downloader' to purchase files, but am looking for something going the other direction. Has anyone seen anything like this?

    • Retired, but build and run websites for organisations of school leaders and others - e.g. http://www.icponline.org, http://www.aspa.asn.au, http://www.appa.asn.au

    • This might have to be a custom job. No answers after this long probably means that you have asked an unanswerable question.

    • Seach the JED for 'download' or 'upload', there are several components which allow for registered users to upload files from the front end.

However, download components don't come with shopping cart integration, and as you've mentioned, shopping carts don't come with upload options, getting all this to work seamlessly may take quite a bit of work since you're trying to create a process that actually involves getting several components to work together.

So, as John mentioned, what you are looking for really looks like a custom piece of work.

    • I think I simply need the uploader to appear on the confirmation page, something similar to the method of uploading images for these posts.
This image is hidden for guests.
Please log in or register to see it.

Where the confirmation number is filled-in automatically in the File comment: section. Any thoughts on the complexity of doing that?

    • To integrate the components and create the process you are looking for, sorry, I don't know.
    • Thanks,
