I'm new to Joomla. I have been using WordPress but it looks amateurish and doesn't display everything I want to display.
I've looked at a lot of Joomla sites. They all seem like they are made for writing and posting articles. Can it be used for feedback too (like a blog)? You know, not just an article, but comments on the article?
Also, can it be used as a photo blog? Just photo libraries and a few articles?

couple of options, but the easiest one is just to create content as you normally would and use a comment mambot (extensions.joomla.lorg) to let folks comment on your posts.
There was an extension from JoomProsolution that operated WP in a Joomla environment. I hadn't really given that a try because I was looking at more of WP Mu - but JoomProsolution seemed to have pretty much abandoned many of their creative projects for now. Not sure what is up with that. But that could change.

I would recommend trying the various extensions on a test site. Some are better than others - some may be more of what you want than others. Taste can be very individual here. And then try the various Rocket Theme templates to see which one works best for you. The look you can achieve can vary dramatically - just check out the member sites posted at Rocket Theme.
Check over the forum here - I learn so much from this site - and the
joomla.org/
site to further your knowledge about what Joomla can do. There are new extensions all the time - so if they don't have it yet - wait a few weeks - it will be there
Good luck - And I look forward to seeing where you go with your site when you post in the member sites!
