- Hi,
  
  I will soon be developing a site with both jomsocial and a phpbb3 forum. Would I be best to pick a phpbb3 template or a standard rocket theme template.

- I would guess you pick one of each. One for Joomla and one for phpBB3 .. then make Jomsocial work within those.
