    • Could someone please point out where I might find the code that governs the behaviour and appearance of these elements?

    • The icons should be be in the www.yourdomain.com/templates/ <your_template>/images/ folder and you can hide them from contect pages by going to your admin panel->global configuration->content->email/print/pdf icons.

    • Thanks for the reply John.

I guess I should've been a little more verbose about my problem. I am currently using the Sporticus tempate and for some unknown reason, the images in question are not displaying only to be replaced by text links instead.

I would like to troubleshoot the problem, but am completely unable to find the necessary code to fix it.

    • hi, in your admin (backend), go to global configuration, click on the "content" tab.

set your options there ( show icon)
    • Say no to Internet Explorer 6.

Yes, that's it - thanks for pointing it out. But the problem was that even though Icons is set to 'show', only text is displaying.

I found the code I was looking for: 'components' > 'com_content' in your Joomla installation.

Problem fixed now thanks to php code jock friend of mine. Something got corrupted in the update to 1.0.12. Thank you all.
