    CSS to server?

Posted 15 years 6 months ago
    • Hi,

I've decided it's time to bypass the WYSIWYG and start learning CSS. When you guys create CSS files, do you do it outside of joomla, and then ftp/scp them up to the server? Or is there a way to create and save them inside joomla, and then point to them via my article?

    • Thanks. i have html-kit.

I guess that I'm trying to understand how it works within joomla. Do people put their custom css in the template_css files?

    • You will have several sets of css files.
the usual file that is dealt with is the template_css.css
When you want to tweak a specific style, then you will have the different styles to edit (ie. lt_grn.css; drk_blue.css; etc.)

Well, anything is possible but i advice you not to even try that as you have no security and no syntax high-lighting IIRC...

When i edit anything Joomla related i use UltraEdit but you can always use Notepad++ if you wish :P
That way you always know it's saved in the right encoding and it also has auto-save which can be a life-saver :)
