Blank articles on edit

    • Hi

I am having a problem when I try to edit my articles. Everything else seems to be running perfectly but when I go to edit an article I get a page just like this one
      img504.imageshack.us/img504/9247/sentinel1.png

I followed the instructions posted by Andy Miller on Wed Apr 29, 2009 6:09 pm
Seems we accidentally forgot to include the rokcandy editor button files in the RocketLauncher. Three approaches to fix. Either:

      a) unpublish the RokCandy Button plugin (editor-xtd)
      b) extract the attached rokcandy_button.zip file into the <joomla>/plugins/editor-xtd/ folder
      c) download the latest RocketLauncher and reinstall

      Attachments rokcandy_button.zip (1.81 KiB) Downloaded 15 times

I tried to remove RokCandy and reinstall the latest version but I keep getting that I cannot un-install it. Button - RokCandy is greyed out - (Only those Plugins that can be uninstalled are accessible. Some Core Plugins cannot be removed.)

I've followed the instructions step by step to manually uninstall RokCandy

      index.php?f=179&t=53166&p=276411&hilit=uninstall+rokcandy&rb_v=viewtopic#p276411

Yet I am STILL finding RokCandy Button editors-xtd greyed out in extensions. I am not experienced with Mysql databases so don't know how to make sure the component entries are removed from the jos_components table in the database, and also make sure the plugins are removed from the jos_plugins table.

How do I do this? I've looked at the table but can't see a thing referring to RokCandy

Help would be valued - Thanks for your time

    • hi again,

actually rokcandy is a component which happens to include some plugins as well.
the best way to uninstall all at once is to go to
      > extensions > install/uninstall > components > rokcandy

please give it a try and let us know if it worked for you.

    • HI

Thanks for that - however it hasn't resolved my issue in that when I try to edit an article they look like this:
      img504.imageshack.us/img504/9247/sentinel1.png

I thought it might be a rokcandy issue (othe forum posts suggested this) but even with a complete un-install and re-install of RokCandy I am still getting a virtually blank edit article page.

      Any ideas would be valued.

      Thanks very much

    • hi jen,

just had a look at your joomla administrator, when i disable the plugins called:
      Editor Button - JComments ON
      Editor Button - JComments OFF
then your article manager shows just fine.

i enabled them again, but if you dont need those, just remove them and everything will work fine.
