can I use the demo images in my professional site as my own?
Or are they copyrighted?

I would like to avoid big penalties.

You can use the images in the context of the original template only. You cannot use the images from one template and use them in another or use them in any other product, such as for print. The image copyright remains with the respective copyright holder.

Hi Nanci,
i am no lawyer, so does this mean that only the context as "demo" with original "demo text" or as you write if i buy the template, i can use the images for my text ?

The demo images are for the demo only.
AFAIK, RT secures the rights to these for demo purposes, not distribution.
If you want to use them, or similar images, you need to purchase the rights for them through some image provider, such as iStockPhots, etc.
You might be able to get away with using them, but it's risky.... - Thanks,
