template.css goes from Writeable to Unwriteable after edits

  • template.css goes from Writeable to Unwriteable after edits

    • After I made some changes to a line or two in my template.css file, I then changed them back but now the file says "unwriteable" in the Template CSS Editor list.

      Did I mess anything up? Everything looks fine so I don't know? This has happened to me in every template I've used (chromotophore, affinity, mixxmag, etc)

    • This can depend on whether you are using FTP to change your files and then just copying over them or if you are using the Joomla Admin Backend feature to change the files. I think if you use the Joomla backend, the files will change to 555 for permissions, but if you use FTP you should be able to keep them at 644.
