Finally join the Rocket Club and very happy to have done so.
However, I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the templates available and I'd like some advice on choosing one for my site.
My site is
waterportal.org
. It is mostly a source of information targeted at professional and academics related to the Water world: engineers, teachers, researchers, students, etc ...
As you can see, the current template is VERY standard so I'd like a template that presents information clearly, and whose navigation is accessible easily.
My original choice was Elixir 2.0, but now I'm mixed Vortex looks very good.
What's your opinion? Is there any that would be more suitable for my type of content and public?
If a template is more recent than an other, is it better coded / have more functions / etc ... ?
Sebastien, I would suggest you change the 3-ball logo to YOUR logo for the site. That would make it smashing!

Looks like you have already chosen a theme but I would go with Elixer ... But you may well find an educational theme released this month who knows. I see a number of people requesting it (maybe wait a few days just in case)
Dan, the 3 ball logo was already my new logo when I started looking at a theme. It looked like this:

Now I don't have the talent of the designers here, so if that's ok with the author I may use his instead. I haven't made my mind up yet though.
David, now I'm curious to see what you guys are gonna come with. I can't wait very long actually because I'm relocating for a new job soon (who know what my internet connection will be in Israel lol!) so I need everything sorted before I go.
oh i think most of Israel has top notch internet access.
good luck in your new job. maybe buy a kevlar vest though... for when you ride the bus or go shopping at the market... or take a scenic ride through the countryside
