Need help installing templates

Just joined Rt Club. Love the templates.
Problem is, I'm not clear on what is the RIGHT way to install templates on Joomla 1.0 12. Moreover each template seems to contain file types which are not the same as its neighbor which raises the question:
IS THERE ONE RIGHT WAY TO INSTALL ALL RT TEMPLATES WHATEVER THE TEMPLATE OR DOES THE INSTALLATION METHOD CHANGE WITH THE TEMPLATE ???
Uploading the template component is NO PROBLEM... but what about the other zip and not zipped files??? Do I upload them through the admin panel and if so how and to where? Or do I upload them to the template files through the control panel? Do I unzip the zipped files on my machine first or do I simply upload the zipped files?

you can upload templates in one of two ways; either via the backend (/administrator) or ftp
ALL RT templates will load via the backend
with reference to any additional modules provided by RT you will find instructions in one of two places; either the demo of the template or in the sticky of the specific forum for that template - www.c3p0.se - sweden

- I'm new to Joomla and am having real trouble uploading and installing template. They dowload as zip files, I unzip them to a folder on my hard drive. There are several files in the downloaded file. which one do I upload. I keep getting the messages 1. "Upload template - upload failed" extract error and 2. "Upload Template failed" installation file not found. What am I doing wrong. I need help badly

You upload the zip folder...not the individual filesThis image is hidden for guests.

In your Admin Panel top menu
Go to:
Installers
>Templates-Site
Click "Browse"
Find the zipped template package on your local drive and upload.
Your in like Flynn!
