Activity Comments Patch Codes?

I'm using jomsocial and the solar sentinel template. However, I'm getting the following message when I"m trying to configure certain modules pertaining to the activity comments as follows:
"Please remember to patch your current template in order for activity comments to work!
If you are using a template that is not listed here, you need to add the codes HERE into the activity.index.php file in your template"
Can someone help?

Hi there, I have recently installed jomsocial activity comments on the Affinity template.
I get the same message. I have applied the code to the activity.index.php but have the following problem. The activity comments and like function only shows up on the bottom activity.
does anyone have the same problem and is there a fix thanks

For all concerned here there are a few points to consider:
A) Template specific posts do not belong here. www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?f=15&t=4239&rb_v=viewtopic
You should follow the proper guidelines for support:

C) Since JomSocial is a commercial extension, many of us don't have it to install and test, so it's hard to answer.
D) With close to 5000 extensions, there is no way for us to guarantee compatibility with every one of them ( www.rockettheme.com/legal/terms.php ) especially with an extension like JomSocial that changes so often.
Please understand I am not trying to be 'hard nosed' here, just trying to point you in proper direction for the most likely place to get a response here, but as always, the best place to seek support is with the developer of the component. - Thanks,

Hey JEM. Thanks for your post -- I'll make sure I direct my questions in the appropriate place.. I'm just seeing if anyone had a similar problem and found a resolution to it. I've already opened a ticket with the developer of the extension to see if they have an answer.

Ok - well I found a solution... so wanted to share the weath with my fix. When you install the activity comments extension from
www.socialcode.co.uk
, it gives you a feature to patch the template. When you do this, it patches the default template... specifically the file activities.index.php in the following directory
/public_html/components/com_community/templates/default/
once you have patched this file with the utility in the activity comments component, you need to copy the activities.index.php file which you patched into the following directory:
/public_html/templates/rt_affinity_j15/html/com_community/
overwrite the current activities.index.php file that resides in this folder with the patched file from the other directory. You should probably backup the original file there before overwriting it with the patched one.
That's it... once I did this, the extension worked perfectly. And I should say it's a pretty cool extension for jomsocial.
