  • Questions about becoming a developer.

    • I have put together a few web sites in the past several years ( I started doing it in Dreamweaver) and now I may have the opportunity to build some sites for actual money. I am thinking of stepping up to the developer club, but I have some questions I want to ask people who are already putting together sites for clients.

      1. If you put together a site for a client using a template for a certain price. How do you handle it when they call you a month later and tell you they want changes or the site got hacked or whatever?

      2. How do you get the client so that they can do updates to the Joomla so they avoid getting hacked?

      3. Do you ever teach the client how to update photos and text on their site?

      I probably have more questions later. :)

    • 1. charge them 50 to 100 usd an hour for maintenance work.
      2 & 3 i usually go through it with them on msn or yahoo on what to do.

      There are tutorials on how to do this too, i know wingman has a site on administrating joomla.
