Installing exisiting template without sample data

  • Installing exisiting template without sample data

    • Hi

I was reading through the 'How to get started' thread and JEM made a very good suggestion about having a temple without any sample data.

As what he said, all the sample data, existing layout is making me more confused.

I would rather start from scratch while having the sample data as a reference.

How do i go about doing it with my Mynxx template already installed?

      Thanks!

    • Start with a fresh install of Mynxx, when you get to screen six, do not click on 'Install Sample Data'.

If you already used the RL, and you don't want to do a fresh install, you can just delete all the Sections, Categories, Articles, and Menus.

    • Yes, to do so you'll need two databases and one install will have to be in a separate folder / directory.

    • Thanks again JEM

I've installed the same template under a different database n folder but i cant seem to access the backup site.

It seems that i can only access my main installation via mysite.com/adminstration

    • You have to include the folder path in the address

      For the main site, mysite.com/adminstration

For the back up site, mysite.com/folder_name/adminstration

Replace 'folder_name' with what ever you named the folder....
