Anyone have a favorite replacement for the stock joomla com_weblinks?
If so why?
Looking for something a little more advanced than the stock one but don't quite need a full blown directory like SOBI or Mosets Tree or Alpha content.

I'd like to know that too. The current one hasn't changed at all since I first tried Mambo (later Joomla) in mid 2004. I'm ready for a new one too.

The learning curve is a little steep, but it is a good component..and powerful...like a Mack truck!

Mike I tried that one on my localhost the other day and I just can't see my clients being able to use it too easily.
(even pre-configuring it for them)
I agree it does look like a great component with a zillion options but that's the problem. I am positive they would screw it up. Ever heard of the 10% rule....
Joomla needs something In between, a few more options, but "dumbed down" for the noobs or basic skilled end users......

I like Bookmarks a lot but I believe AlphaContent requires a little less configuration.

I use com_linkdirectory:

Suits me perfect at the moment and his similar to mostree (but free). The problem is that the development has stopped and I think it has been removed from extensions.joomla.org.
