    Dominion Template Installation Error Message

Posted 15 years 1 month ago
    • Hi. I am new to this forum and to the RocketTheme templates. I just installed my first RT Template which was the Dominion template to my Joomla site. I got two messages when I installed the template. First, was Installation Template Success. Second, was:

Error Loading ModulesMySQL server has gone away SQL=SELECT id, title, module, position, content, showtitle, control, params FROM jos_modules AS m LEFT JOIN jos_modules_menu AS mm ON mm.moduleid = m.id WHERE m.published = 1 AND m.access <= 2 AND m.client_id = 1 ORDER BY position, ordering.

Does anyone have any idea what this is or what it means and what I have to do or fix to use this template? I am NOT an expert in coding, programming, php, databases, ect. So I don't think I could handle anything to heavy. I was hoping that these templates would install and work without a lot of problems and technical issues since I am paying good money for them. I've never had any problems installing FREE templates.

Can anyone advise or help me on this issue. I don't want to activate this template or make it my "Default" template if it is going to crash my website or just not work properly.

      Thank you,

      Jeff

    • So Gantry was not installed prior to this installation?

Did you check the links I provided for troubleshooting?
    • Thanks,

No, Gantry was not previously installed.

Yes, I checked the links but they didn't tell me anything. I talked to my webhost tech support and they told me to go into my cpanel and I had to follow their instructions to both Repair and Optimize MySQL database. So I did and they are fixed.

The site shows up now. However, I don't know anything about Gantry, how to use it, or where to access it. I have no idea on how to work with Gantry or how to modify my Dominion Theme to get it to look like or work like the one in the Demo.

    • If you apply the template to an existing install, you have to reorganize your content to match the template positions, as you would with any other template.

(Template positions vary from template to template.)

Gantry is the back bone of the template's Template Manager, like any other Template Manager, but on steroids... it gives you may more customizations as opposed to other template's Template managers.

If you want to (or had wanted to) duplicate the demo, your best best would have been to use the Rocket Launcher, which duplicates the demo site (minus the images which are now replaced with place holders).
    • Thanks,
