    Gantry Templates

    • Hiya,

I'm currently using Kinetic for a pest control website (isn't it fun how these wonderfully designed templates get used for really mundane topics) & I noticed a few things about the template that I wasn't overly keen on (& a massive amount of things that I was very impressed by). The website BTW can be found here www.yorkshirewoldspestcontrol.co.uk

I'll start of with the good stuff - The sheer amount of module spaces is excellent. It simply means you can do what you want, where you want. The menu options for customisation is great too. I'm all for options to change a templates settings rather than hacking the css or html.

The bad side is the template manager. Its fantastic that there is a huge level of customisation available on offer, however the implementation with the scrolling drop down menus looks really rough, which then really makes you aware as to how cutting edge the template is (in fact, bleeding edge may be more applicable). Further to this, I noted small issues cropping up with other scrolling drop downs. Now I can understand why they are used as they can look really cool, however if they are flaky in the slightest, they just create an end user feeling that questions the sites quality.

I guess what I am trying to say is that I felt there was maybe too much innovation in the last template & that because it was spread so thin that not all of the features were completed to the regular Rocket Theme standard.

But please, take that in context....Your templates are nothing short of Jaw Dropping & Kinetic is bloody brilliant :cheesy: :D
