    • I've not used Elxis, but from a quick look around their forums, it seems that Joomla! and Mambo templates will work, although it is really picky about them being in a container folder in the zip (it does not like that).

It seems to be a Greek fork of Joomla!/Mambo? I'm not sure what it has going for it that Joomla! does not, anybody know?

I wouldn't call it a rip-off: Something like this is called a fork, it's fully legitimate. Also they seem to have addressed the most pressing concerns that Mambo and Joomla users have been voicing for a long time.

The enhancements seem to come at the price of compatibility though.

      Kind regards,

    • I have been testing Elxis cms for two days, I am glad to say most of RocketTheme templates work on Elxis cms, further more I found it to be better than Joomla 1.0.x, most of features we the users have been requesting from Joomla dev team are already implemented in Elxis, I am no coder I don't know about the code or the works but on the surface Elxis cms seems to be better than Joomla 1.5.

Do you have a little run down of what these features are?

    • For me multilingual with UTF-8 encoding, Access Manager another thing I liked was build-in database manager and Defender which protects the site against XSS and SQL injection attacks also acts as an IP blocker/check tool.

      Check out the Demo

      Edited:
Another thing I forgot to mention User Extra Fields, it allows you to add extra fields to registration form and user profile.
