Joomla Shopping Cart Suggestions

    • I have been using Joomla for about six months now. I am using it and rocket theme for all my projects.

I need a shopping cart. In the past I have used OS Commerce. I looked at Josc bridge extension, I could not get it to work. Plus it seems there is no support or ongoing development. If anyone knows how to effectively integrate os commerce into Joomla, that would be very helpful.

RokQuickCart is nice, I am using it as my starter cart offering. However, it does not have an authorize.net payment gateway. It also does not have categories. But it still seems usable for sites with less than 20 products that want paypal processing.

I downloaded the Mynxx template with Virtuemart. I messed with it for a few days. It seems like a bug infested mess. Sometimes it saves the product, sometimes it locks up. I could not get the latest version to install.

I have looked at IXXO cart. It is $595 per domain. I did the demo. At least it seems stable, unlike Virtuemart. However, as you probably know its tough out there for the low-end web developer. I am lucky if I can get $2,500 retail for an ecommerce site with 50-100 products. Having to pay $600 hurts.

I really like Joomla and Rockettheme templates. I need to use authorize.net payment gateway. I would love to be able to find a free stable cart that runs on Joomla.

    • Just testing Xobbix, it's so full of bugs that it's a shame that IXXO released it.
With Affinity it's simply not working.
If they want to convince web designers to pay 600 USD for an IXXO licence (no comment) maybe they should consider that it doesn't seem a serious approach.

    • Yeah stay far away from the IXXO stuff. I bought their Joomla coupon component for $120 and it is so bad I cannot even use it. They build junk.
They also refused to give me my money back.

Absolutely agree. They're also very arrogant and unpolite.

    • Hi Guys

I have just started to work with redSHOP and I think it is very promising. It is new but they work lightning fast with very frequent updates and immediate customer response. You can expect a feature request to be implemented within days or a week! I am not kidding. I have got so much headache from VirtueMart that this new shopping cart seems like a godsend. Sure, there are issues to iron out but I have never seen a team behind a software work faster than these guys and their support is very fast.

I will place the shop in a few RT templates and report the experience.

      Best Regards
      Johan Niklasson
