Template parts to combine with others

Posted 15 years 2 weeks ago
    • Is it possible to release some template snipplets for download. So everybody can combine module (suffix) parts from this template with an another template.

EXAMPLE: take the header section from Moxy and include it (copy & paste the codes) in Quristalline, just like this.
      Snipplets with suffix like:
Header, content, top menu, footer , left-right stuff and so on.

All templates are TOP ( so good I cant really decide), but I would like to combine my template to fit my purpose easily.

      Thanks

    • RafOne,

This is really not practical to do.

Especially since the the example you mention involves incorporating part of a pre-Gantry template in to a Gantry template.

Although RT has many standalone extensions which can work with any template, many of the features in each month's template are coded specifically for the template, so moving it from one template takes a lot of custom coding and debugging time, which is really not what support here is all about.

      www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?f=15...v=viewtopic&start=30

At RT we do our best to answer your template related requests, and when ever we can, try to help you customize the template the way you want.

But if we started to provide snippets of code for adding a particular feature of template A in template B, certainly it would create an avalanche of requests for a particular feature of template B in template C, etc.

The list would be endless, and while we would try to help you customize your dream template, other template related posts would go unanswered.

(** Note since all the latest templates share the same framework, customization, or sharing features from one template to the next is much easier.)

If you really want to start customizing your own templates, I suggest working with any of the Gantry framework templates.

With over 60 Module positions in each, with the ability to add more easily, (without being a coding guru) it might be the way to go.

Lots of info and tutorials here:
