SOLVED Change Template.config.inc and cmod file atributes

Posted 18 years 1 month ago
    • How can I change the template config file. When I try to change it on my computer i've got the message during upload that the permissions are not good. But when I try to change the fileattribute they always change back.

Which kind of permission must the template folders/files have. Ir seems that it's not oke. The template works but I can't change file. I can't upload another template config file and also can't upload another image toe the template/image folder. There seems a problem with the folder/file permissions?

      Regards from Holland

    • You could always change the file on your local pc then FTP and overwrite it.

I use FlashFXP to do edits of that sort, it auto opens Dreamweaver for me where i can edit.

There is also the option of download JoomlaXplorer from extensions.joomla.org/component/option,c...nk_id,102/Itemid,35/

    • I am having the same problem with file permissions using the vortex template. I am trying to delete the head-logo.png file (in the image directory) and it does not let me delete, even when I change the permissions in attributes, even when I copy the file to my desktop, then ftp it back over. Do you have any suggestions? Look at my website, it looks like crap because I don't have the right to delete the VORTEXT logo file. Look the images over lap, http://www.vcinformer.com.  Would someone please help. I will be willing to pay pal some money over to you.

Try downloading the template directory in question to your PC ie. youraccount/public_html/templates/vortex
Once that's done right-click the vortex folder on your server and rename it like so youraccount/public_html/templates/vortexORIGINAL
Now upload the vortex folder back to your server.

You should now have two directories on the server:
      youraccount/public_html/templates/vortexORIGINAL
      youraccount/public_html/templates/vortex

If all went well, Vortex will now be owned by you and you will have full permissions to all it's contents. Remember to change your template selection in your admin backend.

Use the money to pay for another year of RT membership for yourself :)

Another Option is to install Joomla Xplorer. That should allow you to delete files easily.

David might need the money though; he's been broke since he lost his job as manager of a Porsche dealership... read about it here . (Obviously his named has been changed in the article to avoid further embarrassment).
