Client wanted a clean site that was engaging and professional. They needed to house and organize and store sermons and have various staff blogs.

Im interested in overall thoughts, suggestions and other constructive comments.

      Thanks!

    • Two things strike when you first access the website:

      1. The logo sits in an awkward position imo.
      2. The content (text, info), on the main page is almost nonexistent on the mainpage. I know there is a video there, but people like to read, and click something (header is not click-able, and that's a deficiency imo). Put some written content on the mainpage, make the header not just fancy graphics, but also that links to articles and you will improve much.

later edit: not too fond of the big social networking buttons in the footer. I think "less is more" :) .

    • I like the slideshow a lot, that is very professional looking. Nice images! If it was me, I'd consider incorporating the church's name on the slides or putting it in the usual logo location in the template. I agree with the previous person that the current location for the logo is a bit awkward. I also agree with the idea of putting some welcome text on the front page.

I'm viewing the site on a PC with Firefox, and seeing some ragged edges. Also the rounded corners of the slideshow image are a nice touch but they are only visible on the left side; the images are cut off on the right side. --see the attached screencap

I like the calendar--what program did you use?

On the Staff page, consider a larger margin between the image and the text.

The sermon component seems really good. The one thing I noticed was the popup is a little weird--it uses a big horizontal scroll. I don't know what kind of can of worms you might be opening to fix that....but I just know it would bug me if it was my site, so I thought I'd mention it.

Crystalline is a beautiful template. I used it for my own church's website . I did a little modifying of the template because I wasn't super keen on the "rolling wavy" look that the gradients give when there are modules close together, and that was a bit of a pain to modify but I was so happy with the results.

I think we'll be adding a calendar to the site at some point, and I'll be coming back to look up what you used.

    • In safari 5 on the mac, the nav menu goes to 2 lines, so you may want to check that and maybe pull the padding in a bit.
