I am having a problem with the logo for the site. The changes were made using Photoshop, and while it looks fine in FireFox, it looks strange in ie. I don't know how to use Fireworks, so if any one has any ideas on how to fix this, I would be grateful. And if anyone has a better idea for a logo in general, I would love to hear it. I just don't have any kind of talent for that sort of thing.
I also wonder if any Rocketeers know of a news headline scroller module? I seem to remember seeing one on a site, but I can't seem to find it now.
maybe you can give this a try:
www.fnordware.com/superpng/
it's a replacement for the original photoshop png-saver. I've had some good results with it, but I can't gurantee that you will .
a headline scroller is included with the sporticus template.
the site looks nice, especially the images that you've used for the menu.
good luck with it!
Alan, I use the AllVideos plugin from joomlaworks. I seem to remember having problems with it at the beginning as well. I'll dig around and see if I can sort out what I did to fix it. I do remember commenting out the slimbox line in the index.php, and I think that it was related to my joomlaworks extensions not playing nice with it activated.
And thanks Sander for the photoshop suggestion. I'll give that a try.
I am sort of at loose ends on the site loading times. It seems to just be beastly. If anyone has any suggestions, I would be very, very grateful. Most of the suggestions I've received from other forums are along the lines of "ditch the heavy template for a 'light' one, and take off the big images and the flash rotator". Well all my images are pre-sized before I upload them, so I can't make them any smaller, and I really do feel that the image rotator adds a lot to the homepage.
How do other sites manage to have image rotators and still load in a reasonable amount of time?
