Educational video and computer games site, on dear old Vortex
Posted 17 years 3 months ago
I've finally officially launched this site on Sept. 1st.
I'm using iJoomla Magazine on the homepage, as well as on the front-pages of the "Little Kids", "Older Kids", "Teenagers", and "Adults" sections.
I also use the Frontpage Slideshow, JReactions, allvideos plugin, tabs & slides in content, JW Ajax Vote (if you can't tell, I do alot of my joomla shopping at JoomlaWorks.gr.... great items, great selection, and great prices!)
I'd really love any and all comments on the site. This subject is a great passion of mine, and I hope to grow this site into one that begins to do it justice.

I love JoomlaWorks too but don't you feel that their products contain too heavy js libs? Sometimes they kind of slow down the site or cause conflict with other modules... I don't know...

Honestly, I'm just much too green on that subject to know better. Are their extensions generally on the heavy side? And if so, do you think that they are hurting my site performance to a degree that I should consider scaling back on them?
It feels like someone with a fever is yelling at my pants.

Thanks Sam! I am planning a whole month dedicated to older gamers after the new year. And my Mom's job for many years has been as a consultant for senior citizens groups. She is planning on getting a Wii console for one of her senior housing facilities along with a bunch of the games for that that system has that can have positive benefits for seniors.
We'll be doing an interview with the group after they have had it for a while, to get feed back on how they enjoy it and if they feel that it has benefited them. Should be fun!
