I have 2 event sites and used Metropolis again but this time using the wood effect style. Added the plugins below:
Rocksprocket
Yoast SEO
WP Subscribers
WP Optimize
Disqus Comment System
I am not using any cache plugins except the Rockettheme default. Feedback always appreciated

I wrote too soon! I took a look on my iPad and saw what you meant. I cut the menu items down by half which looks better. Thanks for pointing that out
That'll teach me to check next time especially as we have 12 iPads in the home.
