    • I'm back making fansites on RocketTheme after an absense since the Versatility II days. I have a lot of club memberships elsewhere, but I had to come back when I saw Dimensions. This is truly one of the most brilliant templates I've seen come out of this club. I typically dislike dark templates, but this one stands on its own. I know there's a light version, but something about the dark, really speaks volumes.

      URL: www.dollhouseecho.com/

      JVer: Joomla 1.5 RC3

      Additions plugins: RokLatest

Customizations: www.dollhouseforum.net - phpBB3 Dimensions Style (sister site) and blog.dollhouseecho.com/ - Wordpress 2.31 Dimensions Theme.

There isn't much there yet as the show isn't set to start until 2008 and the writer's strike is also taking its toll. But that gives me plenty of time to add content and work out the logistics of using Joomla 1.5. I plan to eventually integrate RocketWerx phpBB3 bridge and RokComment. Now all I need is a phpBB3 style that fits well with Dimensions. phpBB3 club anyone? ;) *hint*

Thanks to the team who worked on this template.

      Jc

    • Wow... very well done. I was working on a variation that wasn't so dark, but since you mentioned there's a "Light" version out there, I'll try it out. That'll save me tons of time. :)

I'll let you all check it out once I'm done.

      Again, great job Jc!

    • Thanks James. I'll be interested to see your modification.

I've been working on a modification of my own trying to get a phpBB3 style to match. Still a lot of work to do, but I enabled the "Forum" button now. I'm not an eloquent programmer of any type, so I can't mimic the time-changing backgrounds/colors, but I was at least able to get the header/footer to look similar. I will be tackling the main menu in the near future, which should really bring some synergy. Still would love to have an original RocketTheme style tho ;)

    • Just did some modifications to my phpBB theme integrating Dimensions elements. Got it to utilize the roktempus to change the link colors and background header for time of day. Also added the menubar to make it look very seamless. It doesn't change the "active" tab when browsing the forum, but I haven't figured out how to do that yet. Also still having a few issues with IE6, but that I think that is the Dimensions CSS conflicting with the phpBB style CSS. Still working on it.

Here's the prototype of what I'm working on so far. I'm the webmaster for my church so I'm upgrading their site to a CMS using Joomla and Dimensions-Light is the one I like the most.

      URL: www.luke1231designs.com/PASSAGE2008

Heres the current site (also designed by me): www.passageministries.org

I'm trying to find a way to list our "Pastor's Messages" individually by title, but I haven't figured out what type of "Content" they should be. Either a blog or static content.

Also, have any of you experimented with Joomla based calendar systems. How do you think they'll integrate into the Dimensions template?

    • J Cowles, that is an INCREDIBLE phpbb3 theme and it fits your site perfectly.

What's the name of the theme and where did you get it? I'd give my left ball to have a copy of it!

    • @James - That looks great as a church homepage! Love the gradient blue header. Gives it nice impact.

@Trent - Unfortunately, my phpBB3 template is a mess of hard coded links and paths. It took me many days of trial and error. Unfortunately, not something I can really distribute easily. I keep hearing talk of a phpBB3 themes club here on the forums, but haven't yet heard anyone confirm it.

      Thanks for the compliments everyone.

    • Hi J Cowles,

I sent you a PM, am not sure if you have had a chance to see it!

I am aware that your template for phpBB3 has hardcoded links, but is there *any* chance of you making it available ? I could probably play with some existing to make it do what I wanted, but I know, that I have apsolutely no chance of building such a thing from scratch!!!

Failling that, does anybody know of a 'dimensions' style phpBB3 template ? I have probably spent 10+ hours looking, but this is the best example I have been able to unearth by far!!
    • Currently trying to persuade the following to play nicely;

      Joomla 1.5.10
      Virtuemart 1.1.3
      Perihelion Template
      vm_mynxx virtuemart template

      Website (in progress); jobeky.myzen.co.uk
