However the Video player Preview image being part of the module position background - BRILLIANT!

Looked at it again, with a little work in Photoshop I'm positive you could get that background set like a jigsaw puzzle so that the Preview image was the last piece to fit in perfectly.
Fooled around with the CSS a little:
