Versatility III with custom flash header

    • Good morning all! (well, I know it probably won't be morning when you read this, but you never know, I might get lucky! :D )

Finally got an RT template implementation that I think is good enough to showcase here:

      www.artesianspaswales.co.uk

The template includes a custom flash masthead and some other odds-n-sods with regards to modification.

I still have a bit of work to do in the footer modules, as Firefox and IE aren't displaying the blank.gif that I have in the left module to stretch the width, but that's something I'll work on 'as and when'.

    • I'm totally digging the bubbles in the header! :)

However, the 'click to activate' nonsense interferes with the control panel; isn't there a simple fix so IE doesn't do the box around the flash? The exact fix escapes me, but I've done it on an asp.net site I built once, so could have a look if Google is of no help...

And as mentioned above, the menu needs to be moved down a bit, or the logo area truncated...perhaps make the 'Artesian Spa..' text in the logo a few pixs smaller and right/center align on the logo graphic itsef? Same with the chick in the tub...a bit too big, given your current logo size settings.

    • PS...probably get TONS of views today, contrary to your comments; what else do we have to do between refreshes on a template release day? :)

[edit] ...noticed no header loading on the HotSpa Range page...just see what looks to a comment arrow thng-a-ma-jing in the upper-left using IE (--->).

      Aaaaack! :)

      Thanks for letting me know!

I did extensive browser testing as per normal, but removed the 'control panel' pulldown at the top yesterday and didn't go back and check it in IE after doing so.

      Good catch!

Thanks for the comments. :) And yeah, I know what you mean about the refresh thing! I've certainly been guilty of driving up traffic stats while waiting for a template to be updated. lol

The logo should be OK now... I found an errant ">" in my comment tag commenting out the control panel pulldown. The masthead 'should' be displaying OK now in IE7.

I notice that Firefox 3b4 still has a few issues, but I think it should be displaying fine in FF2.

      :D

    • Yea, working nicely now, though still no flash in the header of the aforementioned page. :)

...and some 'null is null or an object' errors using IE on most pages now?

I would vote for using the fancy blue "A" logo for your favicon, too. :)

      PS...

On your warranty page, the two seals are pushing all the text to the right, forming a 2" column of text running all the way down. perhaps have the two seals centered, then a hard break and have the text under the seals, rather than on the side?

    • I love the bubbles. The site looks great. Did you have any trouble placing flash in the header? I am always nervous to do that because I am a total tard and I think I would mess up everything else.

    • Hi All,

The site 'should' be working now across the board... there were a couple little niggly javascript errors that we had to iron out.

Thanks to everyone for the comments and suggestions! It's always great to have another pair of eyes look things over.

Terp; I think all your suggestions have been implemented now... thanks!

nick; Actually, it wasn't too bad. There were some issues with this one due to the fact that I was using a slightly older version of the template and coudn't get rid of the control panel pulldown through the template admin, but other than that, it went pretty smoothly.
