    • Hey folks, finally getting my company's new site off the ground. There's still a lot of work to be done, but you get the idea!

      Website URL: www.teamiu.com

Additional Extensions: Virtuemart, CommunityBuilder, Fireboard (still being developed)

Overall, the site is geared, obviously, toward automotive and home theater enthusiasts. It will serve as on online community portal (with Fireboard forum) as well as a location for our retail store information and online catalog.

I am having some trouble though, as it is loading very slowly in both IE6 and IE7 and RokSlide is showing incorrectly in IE6. I have not seen it yet in Safari or Opera, so please let me know of any proplems there.

I welcome any and all comments and constructive criticism and would very much appreciate any ideas on how to improve the slow IE load time!

      Brian

    • Looks pretty awesome...great job. Are the product reviews suppose to be clickable links? If so, that is not working.

    • Thanks for the reply Wade. The product reviews WILL be clickable, but I haven't gotten them set to go quite yet.

    • Thanks Martin, as I said in my original post the site is freakishly slow in IE. I think that post will do the trick!

edit: tred to fix the Carbon bg problem, in fact, I switched it out completely for a gradient bg instead and the site is still WAY too slow. It flies in Firefox but still 85% of my visitors are in IE and it simply isn't quick enough.....any other ideas anyone?

    • Brian,

I like your site. I am trying to put a full length banner on top like yours. How did you accomplish it? Is it the banner that is stretched out to full length or is it just the logo that is full length. I am trying both ways, but with limited success. Somehow it doesn't go full length. I have a flash banner.

    • Brian,

Changing the background sorted the speed problem for my PC. I use IE8 BETA in IE7 Emulation mode. However, it runs slightly slower in Firefox.

Mahesh, I apologize for not replying sooner, I have been busy! To get the full length header, I edited the index.php file and well as the CSS to widen it to the full width of the template. I belive the full width is 962.

Ronald, for the forum I am using Fireboard as well as Community Builder for user administration. The media section is so far just RSGallery2 but I am searching for my best options to also allow video clips.

Thanks again for the comments everyone!

      Brian
