An SMF theme for all Joomla Templates

Posted 18 years 3 months ago
    • Hi guys ;)
I've realised a conversion of the smf template Millenium.
I've done some changement of look for making it more joomlaistic (like possiblity to remove or not the sidenav, alternate color post, other color background for categorie title ...).

It has originally been conceveid for carbonation and support his font-changer and color-changer.
But I've make some trick to making him not destruct any joomla css.
As you will see on the demo, even if the joomla templates are very different (for the links style ...), the style of the joomla and smf are totally conserved.
The font-size follow the font-size of joomla for coherence and if it is not good, I can change the default size with not changing those of joomla ;D.

You can see The wrapped version here:
I have install some of the best joomla templates for the test, so use the template Chooser.
I also suggest you to test with the green color, because it is the one I prefer.
(I've choiced all the color the same as carbonation)

And you will have a big surprise because the wrapped version is also beautiful ... Of course because it is exactly the original template of Bloc.

Of course I know that the demo site is not really pratical but I would enjoy to have some comments ;)
Any suggestions will be appreciated ;D

    • Youyou ,
Your conversion has the same issues many of the smf "wrapped" versions have.

Take a look at the source for your pages and you will see multiple <head> and <body> tags. Of course these pages will not validate and some browsers will not behave correctly with this condition.

      Ah ah ;)
Great! I was waiting for this notice ;D
      I like critics because it's constructive !
In fact, It is possible to do but I will perhaps create an additionnal mambot to do that properly!
In fact I use the bridge of Joomlashack and it has not the possibility to include the header in joomla template.
So if I put some conditionnal instructions to delete that in smf template when wrapped (it's very easy to do :D ).
I must put the same (but inversed) conditonnal instruction in all my joomla templates.
      It is not very practical.
So I think I will create a specific mambot which add the head stuff in joomla head stuff.
But I start the university in two days, so it will perhaps take a litttle time to be totally operationnal.

      Yes for the double body,
But if you look to other smf-theme wrapped into joomla, they destruct the joomla css but not mine ;D
If you test for example the version of Default theme of Kevin (they however stay great themes ! thanks kevin for sharing ;D), the joomla css is destruct and the size font of joomla become more big.
Also to tell you that it is very difficult to adapt smf to joomla, you can see the unwrapped version of that forum:
      www.rockettheme.com/forum/
And the rt themes of Bloc are also not css/html valid (in wrapped mode).

Of course I'm not totally satiisfied !
      But a little :D

    • I have put all the head stuff in the joomla header.
Now it is html validated ;D
      In wrapped mode: validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=htt...eurs.info%2Fforum%2F
      In standalone: validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=htt...lleurs.info%2Fsmf%2F

I'm too Noob to have done that by a mambot, in fact I have try to modify the "bot_ultimatepngfix_1.0.0.zip" because I knowed that it include stuff in joomla header, I've succeded to load some html things in the header but I need also to put php code directly in the header.
So actually, I need to add three lines in the head of joomla template.

      And concerning some members questions:

I will giving it to free for everybody but I will wait to be fully satisfied.
I have succeded to validate the smf template for Html but I've still a problem for the css-validation due to the xml document.
Have someone already experienced that ?

I will also certainly put a small link back to my charity site.
And will appreciate to receive small donations for my charity ... it is for a good action.

The problem is that I just have started the university so I didn't have time to work.
      So be patient ...

PS: It will be good if someone can indicate me a mambot you know which include php code in the joomla header.
Because I need to put not only html (script and link to css) but also php.
And as I'm pretty new in joomla I need a mambot (which include php code into joomla header) to start, which I will be able to modify to my need.
