First I want to thank everyone on this site for all the amazing help so far. It's a wonderful testiment to this community and their skills, that even when I have had a problem with Joomla! itself, or other extensions, when the problem's solutions weren't to be found on the respective boards, a search here often solved the problem. And asking a question always results in helpful and prompt advice. No one here has to do that, I realize, and it is very cool that you do. Cheers to that.
My site is at http://www.TeamAlopecia.com. It is meant to be a informational, support, and community site for those who have a rare auto-immune disease called Alopecia Areata. It causes the immune system to attack the hair follicles as if they were a disease, resulting in partial or total body hair loss, often mimicking the results of chemotherapy. It most often strikes children and young adults.
So the site has a lot of content that is still to be added, especially in the fleshing out of the reviews section, but I wanted to get the bones and structure set up before all that was added.
Please tell me what you think of my work so far. If there is anything that I am doing that is not right, or feels awkward, please let me know. Or if you have any ideas on what might enhance my presentation or content, I would be grateful to hear it.
I especially want to add some movement to the site, as it feels fairly static to me as is. I am hoping to get a friend to put together a (subtle) flash header, but would also like a bit more "dynamic" feeling. For example, if you look at the "Team Superstars" at the top of most of the pages, I would love for those to do a slow fade in and out-rotation on the pages, as there are about 16 in total (with more to be added in future). I find extensions that do that sort of thing for content items, but not for module items.
Anyway, I very much appreciate anyone who takes the time to look this over for me.
Cheers,
Ellie
Edit: I have added a login of....... user: rocket/ password:rocket for anyone with CB/SMF integration experience, to look at my configuration as is. If you can think of ways that I could enhance my users experience, please let me know. Thank you!

Ellie,
Congratz on the site, I have just had a brief look over the site but the trouble that I found was.... The stories and content are really good to read and i keep getting distracted..point being....it is very good as a website..The template fits well with what your subject ... my only minor issue is that maybe the header is a little to bold (square)for the subject it represents.. .. First attempt... no worries.... If my first was 1/2 this good i would of been pleased..
well done...
p.s. is your name elise or ellouise... my partners name is elise!

Layout looks ace - is that using iJoomla Magazine?
Only problem is that the main content area is using a wide fixed-width, so 1024x768 users will have troubles...and resizing the window you can see the top part is fluid but the lower is fixed causing the template to sheer. That's using Versatiliity II Sienna right? I'd try picking a fixed-width size rather than the fluid width as default...

Hi guys!
Thanks for the input. Virusguys: Thanks for the kind words regarding the content! I have a fair bit more to add, and some editing to do, but it is really nice to hear that I'm on the right track. ( I love the name Elise, but my name is just Ellie. Not as glamorous at all... )
And yeah Norm, my content partner and I are really struggling to sort the teens out...the little buggers! We are especially concerned that as we very much think they would like, and deserve to have, their own forum and articles that are written by them. But even though teenagers are crawling all over the internet, all the time, we wonder what responsibilities and protections we can afford them, without making the whole enterprise just useless and a waste of time. If anyone has experience with that, please advise!
And thanks also Dan, it is iJoomla Magazine. I have tried to sort out the sheer problem by reducing the size of my three main images, as it was their width that was limiting the frontpage from shrinking sufficiently. I don't want to use the fixed width if possible (will if I have to) as it chops off part of my menu. ( and I don't want to use the suckerfish menu as it was just flickering to the point of not being usable...
Cheers!
It feels like someone with a fever is yelling at my pants.
