    • Wisconsin,
I do believe this is not the community for you. I have been in over a year and i have had such a positive and friendly experience UNTIL your very negative review of one of my sites. Your posts are negative and my guess is you are negative. My apologies to the Rocketheme moderators but this forum has been so professional and I for one would like to see it remain that way. Best wishes Wisconsin in your future activities.

    • Hi,

I visited your site and, frankly, the content might be an issue with a lot of the people who have looked in on it. Rats on the grill, the Hooters story, and more. I think you have to admit that this isn't family fare by any means.

No doubt there's a market for this stuff, but it certainly could be a turnoff to the people you're trying to get comments from.

FWIW, your choices of colors are okay and — if one can get by the content — the site seems to work.

One suggestion is to cut down the Hooters image. I immediately noticed that it took time to load and appear on my monitor, and I'm using a broadband connection. I discovered that it is 883kb, which is way too big. If you run it through Photoshop's "save for web", the PNG-24 setting cuts it down to 344kb, which is still too big. If you use JPEG at 70 quality, it's 93kb. Still more than I'd want, but because you're depicting faces and you want quality, it's okay. Reducing from 883kb to 93kb will make for a faster page load.

As for the value of the forum, it's not necessarily in getting feedback on your site. That's a bonus. The real value is the help you get in troubleshooting the challenges we all face. In that regard, the RT forum is as good as it gets. The mods, and experienced RT customers, are terrific. That's why I'm here.

There are lots of great templates outside of RT but the level of support is almost always lacking. I just went through one of those situations with another template producer. Nice folks and good product, but it is a small operation and getting the necessary assistance was very difficult. I finally had to give up. I jumped back into an RT template and have received outstanding support.

If you can see the benefits and can adjust to the style and positive tone that runs through this community, I think you'll find great value here.

Not trying to school you but something else you might try — if you haven't yet — is leaving some constructive comments for other site owners and then asking them to comment on yours in return. You could find that the principle of Quid Pro Quo will work for you.

In any case, best wishes in your Web work.

      Jerry
