I'm just finishing up the new site for a new metal radio show my wife is doing in Spanish, I used Extremities2 Red as a foundation, and ran with it... I think mine is truely red whereas the original is more brownish... maybe that's just me... :
Any ways, I've still got a few things to sort out, and some sections are bare for the moment (playlist for example) until the first show. Check it out here:

I copied the existing banner/mod_banners module and created 3 versions, then placed/named each advert1, advert2, advert3 respectively (although I'm not currently using #3), all are predefined slots in Joomla and added the code to publish them if they exist to the template like this (where I wanted them to appear):
I also used the "advertisement" graphic from the default theme to make my "advertisement" header and created a custom CSS entry called "advert" which places that image at the top of all advert banners as well as wrapping them in a border to match. Once all that was done I used the Banner Component to manage my banners...
It's not totally pretty, but not entirely hard. and it works a treat! unfortunately I haven't figured out a way to make sure all the banners are different... it's totally random.
wow, nice site, can you tell me how you got the forum to look like that? I don't mean the theme, but, how it "fits" inside the page. In my site the forum appears inside the "main" area but the left column is still there.
You have to specify where all your modules appear, in this case, I manually selected which areas each module is present (not "all") and then for the forum page, no modules are selected to appear there. It's all Joomla functionality... nothing fancy...
in the admin backend, select modules> site modules from the dropdown menu at the top, then select the modules one by one (you only need to do the published ones, ignore the rest)
