adminstrator/cache not found

I'm trying to use mission control but it seems to delete the cache folder. Tried manually creating the folder, tried ftp layer, tried changing owner of the cache folder so that it couldn't be deleted but that created a 500 error.
JFolder: :folder: Path is not a folder. Path: /var/www/demo/public_html/administrator/cache

- MissionControl certainly doesn't delete this folder, in fact MC does not use this cache folder at all. The only thing I know of that creates/uses that folder is sh404sef. You might want to make sure that's installed correctly.

I'm lost then. I've never used sf404sef.
I will try a clean permissive rebuild of 1.7.2 and see if I can track it down.

I did a clean build and installed missioncontrol before anything else. It didn't kick out the error this time. Must be something else I had installed causing problems w/missioncontrol. If I found out I will post it in case someone else runs into the same thing.
