- I need to have a small introduction mp3 play when entering a website, is there anyway to do this that will work on all browsers and be invisible i.e. not show the player? A mute icon would be a great feature but I dont want to see the player... any ideas?

Take a look on the JED at joomla.org for an extension that will suit your needs, I've seen this request before and I'm sure if you really want to do so, there are a few out there.
(Please note that most users dislike audio that starts automatically when you enter the site :shock: )
A) It's so '80's'
If they enter your site and music starts playing, depending on where they are browsing, it may be inappropriate...

Many thanks for your reply; I did take a look on the JED however I ended up solving this by writing a short script to detect the different browsers.
I do agree with your points above however it is a requirement of the client and the audio file in question is actually not music but a spoken introduction.
