    • Thanks - I have also been using this one but there may be a problem as my site is not showing in the top 700 of sites under Google.

My site is http://www.webpoland.org using affinity on 1.5.18

It has over 400 articles (pages) and has now been up and runing for about 11 months. I would have expected it to show under keyword "Poland" by now as the content is mainly wording.

I have made the site SEO friendly as far as i can.

      Can anyone give any help.

    • Hi lafrance,

      Thanks

Google advises no more than 3 adverts per page according to adsense, which is what I keep to.

    • Hello!

great now take a step back

Look at how many visitor you have each day
look how much you made from those ad so far.
My news site as over 10k users weekly and I use no ad
Reason users comeback is I limited any ads until I reach the 10k
mark now have 1 small ad only show on home page.
And that had pay for my domain now and more.

    • Some thing that may be of interest on this mater.

I have created an identical site at http://www.poland-polska.org using the free "afterburner" template and joomla ver.1.5.18

On Affinity template (Webpoland) the number of pages indexed using XML Sitemaps = 1053

On Afterburner template (poland-polska) only 322 pages are indexed!

    • The two sites seem to have the same content, so you may be getting some of the articles left out as they are duplicates.

Also although you have a large amount of content, it's not optimized for search using on page factors such as H-tags, internal linking strategies etc.

As LaFrance said, use xmap to generate your xml site map and submit that to google, that way you don't have to keep adding to your site map as the component will do that automatically.

      Cheers,

      Rich

    • Hi Richard

The difference in indexing is not by Google but by xml sitemaps.

I have always thought that the Affinity template is producing different results from other templates now i know it does.

I will try another template using the same content and see what that produces.

    • Hi Dave,

Now I understand what you mean...but isn't the amount of pages produced in the xml sitemap dependent upon the sites structure and how the urls are written?

Joomla is notorious for creating duplicate content links, depending on how the pages are layed out would determine the amount of pages generated by the XML sitemap.

I don't think it's a template issue per-say, but more of a content layout choice.

Not sure if that makes any sense or not.

      Cheers,

      Rich

      Edit:
It has over 400 articles (pages) and has now been up and runing for about 11 months. I would have expected it to show under keyword "Poland" by now as the content is mainly wording.

This is what I was originally talking about in regards to your issues above, not xml site map specific. Do you know how many of your 400 pages are indexed by google?
