I was looking at this but i really dont get the point on it all. Maybe you guys are wiser the me. As far as i know you can make a pretty decent blog site without any add-ons in Joomla. What do you guys think?

As a wise, old, geezer geek who has seen everything thrice in the computer world, I think WP for Joomla is intended for people who are accustomed to WP, but want some of the functionality of Joomla. Some people get very dogmatic about computers and applications, and don't want to let go of what they are already familiar with. Yes, Joomla performs the blog function quite well, and there is no requirement for any add-on for general functionality.

Very true!
Core Joomla does so much but people always look towards extensions first...even before looking at their settings in Joomla, they look for extensions that look at their settings in Joomla.
Keeping things as close to core as possible is always a better way to go and makes it much easier to do updates.
