Nasty Problem; Dont know how to delete menu-link

Hi everybody
I have a nasty problem. Couldnt find explanation in forum: How can I delete a menu-link. I mada a wrong menu-link and would like to undo it. Any proposals? I frankly admit that menu-linking is still a mistery for me. When and why choose which option? Does anybody know of a good tutorial explaining this? I hate doing things which I dont understand...

it's a quick thing so dont worry. in the backend go to Menu and pick the menu you created the link in, i.e. mainmenu
find the link in question and unpublish it or delete it ..

thank you for prompt reply. Problem partially ??? solved. I prefer trashing the wrong link. What is disturbing me, that It seems that I cannot completely get rid of it. If I look into the trash manager, I cant find a trasheable link. However, in the category manager, the beast still resides in existing menu links/state/ Is there a way to really remove it forever?

BTW: I know the Templates you mentionend and like them very much. The problem is, that they show all the variants of how to establish new links, but the prime question as of why choosing a certain type is not covered. I have written them and suggested to do a template for this....

In the Trash manager you will see a drop down box on the right, under the toolbar buttons that says: Content Items. Change that to Menu Items and then you wil see your trashed menu items. Then you can select them and delete them "forever".
If you haven't downloaded the official Joomla manual ( help.joomla.org/images/User_manual/user_...201_10%2021%2006.pdf ) from the Joomla Help site, I suggest you do it. You'll find answers to your questions in there.
