My first joomla site, and already giving me headaches, but I don't want to return to the same static-golive-generated pages again.
From the time I uploaded mosets, then still in the process of using ijoomla news portal, magazine and side bars, my site is down on an almost daily basis- not too long (like 30 minutes) and then back to normal again...but it bothers me coz my viewers are already complaining even though the site is not yet official launched. So if there is anyone who can advise me an alternative joomla host that experienced no problem with the comps I mentioned above, then I will be so grateful for your help.
Everytime I needed support for a developer, I have to shell out $50.00 and I have done so thrice already.
The site is only 55% complete and already giving me enough complications...help is urgently needed!
What reasons does your current host give you for the downtime?

Before I can actually get 'customized' response I have to fill up their form or I have to pay $50 for a 'developer' to look into the cause. I have emailed their 'customer service' and waiting for their reply.
Even though its only on a sub-directory, the few visitors complained of 'proxy error', slow loading, etc.
I haven't used the ijoomla component yet, and the first time I uploaded the sidebar compo, there is already this 'proxy error' shh but I followed the instruction set by ijoomla including all issues like ioncube, etc...
I read somewhere here of phpwebhosting.com so I contacted them already and would be willing to transfer asap as long as they have no issue with the ijoomla comps and that I don't have to pay $50 everytime I need support.

check out Lunarpages i use them, i used to use hostrocket till they booted me for too much traffic and charged 85.00 for bandwidth overages. They took it back and refunded my money eventually but it was a gay mess.
Also i had a site that got DDOS attacks and they didnt have any ways to bock them. theres a machine that can do it but its like mad expensive. but check to see what happens if you get DDOS'ed. you can usually guage from their responses how seriously they take your uptime and stuff. if they dont knwo your probably gonna get screwed if it happens to you.
I hve used several others but Lunarpages is the bomb. I loved HR,they had huge pipes and superfast servers. Redundant OC12 loops made it an obvious choice, but Lunars on OC3's so thats not bad either. But HR has lame security protocols if siomethign does happen to you. they just shut you down for a day then re-up you and if your still hit they shut you donw again. With Lunar they got the hookup to keep you going strong.
So if there is anyone who can advise me an alternative joomla host that experienced no problem with the comps I mentioned above, then I will be so grateful for your help.
