    • Hey guys, I just got charged for a yearly subscription through PayPal today and I have absolutely no idea what the website is, I don't even remember taking out a subscription. Does anyone know anything about this website?

    • Okay, I just found out what it's for, I purchased Ajax chat for my website last year, however there is no way I would have entered into a yearly subscription, this is very annoying and I am not happy at all, I feel like I've been conned.

    • Contact your CC company.

I got scammed just a few months ago and got charges reversed.

Even if you signed up for something and missed some 'fine print' you may be OK.

    • I got caught "off-guard" once like that. Some Merchants will process a sale as a monthly/yearly subscription instead of a one-time purchase.... and then it's up to you to be diligent in making sure the sale is not posted as a subscription. I've gotten in the habit of checking every transaction to verify it wasn't sold as a subscription.

    • Thanks for the support guys, glad to know that I'm not the only person who has fallen for this. I have sent the company a couple of e-mails but "what a surprise" I haven't heard anything back.

    • If you have tried contacting the site/company directly and have gotten no response, File a claim with PayPal. You may not have been the only one that had problems with this merchant. PayPal is very thorough in protecting "the buyers" best interests.... Their lively-hood depends on consumer confidence and they have a "vested-interest" in protecting the buyer-seller relationship! Give them a try... Paypal has always done a good-job for me!

    • plimus is a payment company that handles software sales in bulk. It's got bad ratings and tons of stuff wrong with it, but it's what a lot of joomla developers use. It think JomSocial uses too, or at least used to.

    • Yes, Yes, JomSocial's payment gateway is Plimus.

Plimus can only charge you for what you sign up for (which is decided by the companies that use the site as a payment gateway).

But in any case, you still may be able to get the charges reversed or add a stop payment to a particular transaction through your CC company.
